Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much! It is not just about what we are doing, but about what you can do and what can be done to do God's work.
This contest is not about which congregation does the most for people in their community, it is about how we can inspire others to do G...
Iknow the responsible people that started and run this mission.
They have grown fast because of the great need and because of their inviting outreach. HANDS is a wonderful visual; we all were given hands to help! God's grace on these workers and this church for their mission! skg
This is a very heartwarming mission project and I especially like the focus on hands. The final message of "How are you using yours?" leaves a person with something to think about.
Great job Lord of the Lakes in getting this wonderful project up and running so well. With the economy the way it is, there is a great need for families to have sources where they can find good clean items to stretch their family's dollars. Your volunteers have really made this mission a success!
Very inspiring. I can only imagine the time and effort that went in to getting this up and running and now to keep it operational. Hats off to those involved--may God continue to bless your ministry!
I loved this video. My Mother always said idle hands the devel's work. I loved these hands were all helping. Where do I send a donation? :) MMK in Columbia, SC
Thank you all for the wonderful comments again! The thrift shop really does help many people in our area, but the message behind the thrift shop is what is most important! The thrift shop is how we help those in need locally....but its just what WE DO.... How can you use your hands in your community to do God's Work?
Small communities can make a difference! The video "Drowning in Need" shows examples of how people can work together and how they can have an impact on their local community and on an international level. Awesome video!
I really love how a small community can make such a difference. What if everyone in every community banded together like this, what the world could be like!
This is a great video of mission work that is local as well as international. The people of Winneconne, Wi have been amazing in their support of this mission. So often we think of mission work just abroad but the recent economic situation has made us realize the needs that are right here at home. Thank you for your support of this mission and this video. God Bless you all in God's Work!
As a non-member of this church, I still am really inspired by how you are able to reach out to so many in need. It really makes me want to get out there to save people from "drowning in need"!
This is really a tough video to watch! All of us are "drowning in some kind of need. . .physical, mental, emotional, spiritual. As Christians, we have a responsibility to reach out to our brothers and sisters in Christ (as well as non-believers!)who need God's help. And we provide that help with our own hands, heads and hearts!!!

I think the video was extremely well done. The thrift shop is meeting the needs of so many who are in a sense "drowning" and portrays an excellent mission that church is fulfilling for the community and even to those around the world
This service (and video) is incredible! I always thought thrift shops were "for profit". It is awesome to see this as a non-profit organization that has a sole mission to help people around the world.
To those of you who organized this mission, to those of you who work tirelessly during your 'shifts': what a blessing you are to the Face of Christianity!
Great, great ministry. Fabulous video. Award winning. You guys are FABULOUS and deserve to win. You are winners. I pray God continues to bless the workers and the shoppers at Thrift and Gift. You're the best.

I love the emphasis on the hands in the video Drowning in Need! The video didn't emphasize the people but rather the hands get all the credit! Great Job!!
Great job on the video. I'm glad we highlighted the Thrift and Gift as the subject for the video to tell even more people about the great work being done there. Well done!
Yahoo! This is mission work in action, touching our nearby neighbors and caring about those who are far away as well! May God continue to bless our faith-filled acts and surprise us with so many new friendships as we serve!!
the video is amazing!! lord of the lakes is truly a great service to God and our thrift store proves it! I'm proud to be a member : )
(nice hand krysta!)

Wonderful Job! I like how it really showed how you can work with your hands to do God's Work, How everyone can do their own things to help those in need.
I really wish my community had this type of community service in the small town where I reside. This type of service allows all ages and every type of culture or religion to contribute to helping those in need world wide. After all, isn't this what Jesus would want us to do? This service is wonderful, as well as the video's narrative since it gives a great explanation how the money is distributed!
If any of us saw someone drowning in water, we would all do something to help save that person!!! Real people are really drowning in poverty and all of its' related problems, e.g., hunger, ignorance, disease, anger, crime, etc.
No Christian can ignore such a cry for help! And we have our hands, and hearts, and heads to provide the ways and means of rescuing these tortured souls!
Let's all pray for the strength and patience to KEEP reaching out to those who are "Drowning In Need"!!!

I really like how this video explains that the money comes from the community's thrift shop, as well as explaining exactly where the money goes when assisting those in need; great work portraying this through the video clip!
This contest is not about which congregation does the most for people in their community, it is about how we can inspire others to do God's Work with their hands in their own communities, it is about the message behind what each church/individual does and the ability of the video to inspire others to lift their hands to help those in need. God's Work OUR Hands....
It isn't just about our congregation and what we do. We tried to deliver the message behind what we do and tried to tell others who see our video that they can use their hands in so many other ways to do God's work too.
This video really shows what the purpose is--helping those who so have little. I really love the "community" spirit that this video portrays--very effective.
Your RIGHT! It isn't just about what we are doing in our local community. It is all about how everyone can help in their own way to do God's Work! We are so glad you are seeing the real message!
How inspirational! Great delivery of the message. Really shows how a local church can work together to help those in need. I also love how they show that its not just what they are doing, but about what can be done by anyone with their hands to help those in need! Absolutely love the ending!
Its just great how they mention how they are helping yet still turn it around and point out that question to the viewer on how can we all help with our hands to do God's work. Very good message. Heart warming!
This is really nice to see that a local Wisconsin church/ non-profit thrift store is able to make such a worldwide reach to those in need. May God bless you and all that you do.
Thank you all for your wonderful comments. We really tried to go beyond the thrift store and what we do here in our community and really tried to deliver the message of using your hands to do Gods work in your own community, in whatever ways you can think of.
Really enjoyed watching this message! Very powerful ideas, well presented. We all need to be using our hands in some way to do God's work here on earth.
This is an excellent video which protrays a very moving message. It is very important to help anyone in need;it also gives you a very warm, rewarding feeling!
