The song and ministry really capture the call to feed the hungry and to care for the earth. Great job to the many people across the generations and socioeconomic groups for demonstrating such a great sense of community.
This video really catches the heart and soul of this ministry. It really is how it all happens. As one of the children said, "love grows in this garden." Relationships are formed, kids learn how food is grown, how good it can taste right from the garden, how to prepare the food they grow, and they take food home to their families. We were able to provide a strawberry patch this year and so the children picked strawberries for the first. In the garden, in God's creation, wonderful things can happen.
Harvesting God's goodness in the earth and in each other as you serve your neighbor. It doesn't get much better than this! This is a wonderful example of God's work. Our hands. God bless your ministry!
Can there be anything better during summertime than teaching kids the connection of soil to sun and plants, plants to water, and willing hands? And then the miraculous results? It's inspiring to see such efforts in urban settings.
What a wonderful community ministry of growing and feeding! Intergenerational, fun and good nutrition as well. Sharing God's love in so many ways. Thanks.
This interaction of church members with low-income-family children is a resounding success. Kids see their seeds produce food--some for the first time. Friendships are formed and kids are building self-esteem. God is blessing this endeavor!
